Nikiszowiec – amazingly picturesque working-class colony of the Giesche ( Wieczorek) mine designed by Emil and George Zillman and built in 1908-1915. It is made of 9 close buildings from which a part is connected by characteristic roof connections, and by St. Anna Parish Church built in 1927.
Nikiszowiec became a pearl among working-class colonies. This estate was used as a background for many movies about Silesia. It is inscribed in the list of the Historical Monuments. Like something straight out of “Peaky Blinders”, this historical miners estate now forms a tourist attraction that sees growing numbers year by year.
